Description
Delicious breakfast rolls filled with sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, perfect for any morning.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage, cooked and drained
- 10 large eggs, scrambled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the ground breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- In a separate pan, scramble the eggs until just set, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- On a lightly floured surface, place the crescent roll dough, flattening it with a rolling pin.
- Spread the scrambled eggs over the dough, layer on the cooked sausage, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll the dough into a log from the long side and slice into 1-inch rounds.
- Arrange the rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish, leaving space for rising.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the cheese sauce by melting butter, whisking in flour, and gradually adding milk until thickened. Stir in cheddar cheese until smooth.
- Once baked, spoon warm cheese sauce on top and garnish with parsley or green onions.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating diced jalapeños or herbs in the cheese sauce.
