Description

Delicious breakfast rolls filled with sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, perfect for any morning.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage, cooked and drained
  • 10 large eggs, scrambled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook the ground breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  2. In a separate pan, scramble the eggs until just set, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, place the crescent roll dough, flattening it with a rolling pin.
  4. Spread the scrambled eggs over the dough, layer on the cooked sausage, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Roll the dough into a log from the long side and slice into 1-inch rounds.
  6. Arrange the rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish, leaving space for rising.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, prepare the cheese sauce by melting butter, whisking in flour, and gradually adding milk until thickened. Stir in cheddar cheese until smooth.
  9. Once baked, spoon warm cheese sauce on top and garnish with parsley or green onions.

For added flavor, consider incorporating diced jalapeños or herbs in the cheese sauce.
