Description

Delightful soft and chewy cookies combining sweet bananas and rich chocolate chips for a nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 small overripe banana, mashed (approximately 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and mashed banana in a large bowl until well combined.
  2. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, stirring until nicely blended.
  3. Mix in the flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon until no streaks of flour remain.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15 minutes while the oven preheats.
  6. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350°F.
  7. Drop 1-inch dough balls onto the prepared cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes or until the edges are set and the middles are slightly underbaked.
  9. Cool before enjoying.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness. Resting the dough improves texture.
