Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Good quality bread
  • 6-8 Slices Double smoked cheddar cheese
  • 4 Slice Smoked beef bacon
  • 3 tablespoon (45 ml) Butter or vegetable oil


Instructions

  1. Place a skillet on the stove and set it to medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the smoked beef bacon until it reaches your preferred level of crispiness.
  3. Spread butter (or use vegetable oil) on two slices of bread and lay them in the heated skillet with the buttered side facing down.
  4. Arrange enough slices of double smoked cheddar cheese to completely cover each slice of bread, then layer two slices of cooked bacon on top of each.
  5. Spread butter on the remaining bread slices and position them on top of the layered bread in the skillet.
  6. Turn each sandwich over once the underside turns golden and crispy. Keep cooking until the other side also becomes golden brown.
  7. Take the sandwiches out of the skillet. Cut them diagonally and serve with rhubarb chutney or ketchup.
