Description
Delicious smash burgers topped with a rich baconnaise sauce for an unforgettable flavor experience.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Butter, for toasting buns
Instructions
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Mix mayonnaise, chopped bacon, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl to prepare the baconnaise sauce. Set aside.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (approximately 4 ounces each) and gently form each portion into a loose ball without compacting it too much. Season each ball with salt and pepper.
- Place the beef balls on the hot skillet. Immediately smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned.
- Flip the patties, add a slice of cheese to each, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Spread butter on the insides of the hamburger buns and toast them in a separate skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading a generous amount of baconnaise sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a burger patty on top, add any desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc.), and top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
Notes
Customize your baconnaise sauce with hot sauce, herbs, or spices for a unique twist.
