Description

A comforting Slow Cooker Pot Roast made with Lipton Onion Soup Mix, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Spray Oil for Crockpot
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 pounds of roast or flank steak
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 packages of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 6 potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 6-8 carrots, cut into large pieces
  • Salt and pepper (optional)
  • 4 celery stalks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix one cup of water, one can of cream of mushroom soup, two packages of dry onion soup mix, and minced garlic in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Layer the onion slices at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add the beef roast on top of the onions and pour half of the soup mixture over the meat.
  4. Toss the potatoes and carrots into the slow cooker, then drizzle the remaining soup mixture over them.
  5. Secure the lid and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours.

Notes

For thicker gravy, reserve some liquid and whisk in cornstarch before returning it to the pot. Consider searing the meat for added flavor.
