Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef (450 grams)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 cups (480 ml) crushed tomatoes (480 milliliters)
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth (240 milliliters)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) tomato paste (30 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili powder (15 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cumin (5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika (5 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) red pepper flakes, optional (2.5 grams)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
- Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add the diced bell pepper to the slow cooker.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth.
- Stir in the tomato paste.
- Add chili powder, ground cumin, and paprika.
- If desired, add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Stir all ingredients until well combined.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
