  • 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth (240 milliliters)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) tomato paste (30 milliliters)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili powder (15 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cumin (5 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika (5 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) red pepper flakes, optional (2.5 grams)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet.
  4. Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker.
  6. Add the diced bell pepper to the slow cooker.
  7. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth.
  8. Stir in the tomato paste.
  9. Add chili powder, ground cumin, and paprika.
  10. If desired, add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
  11. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  12. Stir all ingredients until well combined.
  13. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
