Description

Learn how to make delicious Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken that is tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights or weekend gatherings. Master the art of slow cooking now!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs (1.36 kg) chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) BBQ Sauce
  • 1/2 medium onion, grated (with juice)
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp (30 g) brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients for the sauce in a slow cooker with a capacity of 5-6 quarts.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the cooker and ensure they are fully covered with the sauce mixture.
  3. Put the lid on and set the cooker to high heat for 2 to 3 hours, or choose low heat for 6 to 7 hours. Adjust the timing if using smaller chicken pieces, making a smaller portion, or if your slow cooker tends to cook quickly. The chicken is considered ready when it reaches an internal temperature of 165˚F and can be easily shredded.
  4. Take out the chicken and transfer it to a cutting board, then use two forks to pull apart the meat.
  5. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it thoroughly with the flavorful sauce.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken in BBQ sauce for enhanced flavor before cooking.
  • Add hot sauce or chili powder for a spicier taste.
  • Use a basting brush to evenly distribute sauce for better flavor absorption.
