Description
A fun and shareable dish that combines the flavors of tacos and pizza into a delicious sheet pan creation.
Ingredients
- Pizza dough (enough to cover a sheet pan)
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey (or plant-based alternative)
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 2 tbsp water (for simmering taco meat)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese blend (cheddar and mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes or salsa
- 1/2 cup black beans or corn
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Sour cream
- Sliced jalapeños
- Avocado slices
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add your ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, taking care to drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water, simmering the mixture until it thickens and the flavors meld beautifully.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to fit your sheet pan. Transfer the dough to the pan, ensuring it presses into the corners evenly.
- Spread the cooked taco meat over the dough, and sprinkle black beans or corn on top.
- Cover the entire surface with the shredded cheese blend, allowing it to melt and bubble during baking.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and scatter diced tomatoes, green onions, and fresh cilantro over the top.
- Garnish with sliced jalapeños or dollops of sour cream for extra flavor.
Notes
Spritz the crust with olive oil before baking for a golden color. Let cool before slicing to maintain structure.
