Description

A fun and shareable dish that combines the flavors of tacos and pizza into a delicious sheet pan creation.

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (enough to cover a sheet pan)
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey (or plant-based alternative)
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 2 tbsp water (for simmering taco meat)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese blend (cheddar and mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes or salsa
  • 1/2 cup black beans or corn
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Sour cream
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Avocado slices

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add your ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, taking care to drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, simmering the mixture until it thickens and the flavors meld beautifully.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to fit your sheet pan. Transfer the dough to the pan, ensuring it presses into the corners evenly.
  4. Spread the cooked taco meat over the dough, and sprinkle black beans or corn on top.
  5. Cover the entire surface with the shredded cheese blend, allowing it to melt and bubble during baking.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the oven and scatter diced tomatoes, green onions, and fresh cilantro over the top.
  8. Garnish with sliced jalapeños or dollops of sour cream for extra flavor.

Notes

Spritz the crust with olive oil before baking for a golden color. Let cool before slicing to maintain structure.
