Ingredients

  • – 2 1/2 tablespoons (37 ml) vegetable oil
  • – 4 beef sausages, sliced into circles 1/4 inch thick
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) garlic, minced
  • – 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (0.6 g) crushed red pepper flakes, optional, omit if you want to keep this mild


Instructions

  1. Warm up 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is ready, place the sausage slices in the pan. Cook, turning the slices often, for 1 to 2 minutes until they are browned. Take them out of the pan and set them aside.
  2. Pour the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil into the pan with the minced garlic. Cook for about a minute until the garlic turns golden.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if you wish. Mix everything together. Allow it to cook, stirring now and then, until the cabbage is nearly soft, approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Return the sausage to the pan and blend it with the cabbage. Continue cooking for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until the sausage is heated through and the cabbage is fully tender. Taste and add more salt if needed.
