Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and sourdough discard.
- Gradually add milk, mixing until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter with parsley and minced garlic.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm biscuits before serving.
Notes
Use cold ingredients for best results. Overworking the dough may result in dense biscuits.
