Description

Delicious, fluffy biscuits with cheddar cheese and a hint of garlic, reminiscent of the famous Red Lobster recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese and sourdough discard.
  5. Gradually add milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with parsley and minced garlic.
  9. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm biscuits before serving.

Notes

Use cold ingredients for best results. Overworking the dough may result in dense biscuits.
