Delicious pumpkin pie twists that combine the classic flavors of pumpkin pie with a fun, flaky pastry texture, perfect for fall gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet Puff Pastry (use pre-rolled for convenience)
- 1 cup Canned Pumpkin Puree
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
- 1 Egg (beaten, for brushing)
- Powdered Sugar (optional sweet topping)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the canned pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and ground cloves. Stir until smooth.
- Cut the puff pastry sheet into long strips, about 1 inch wide. Spread a spoonful of pumpkin filling along the center of each strip.
- Twist each strip a couple of times to create a spiral design, securing the ends.
- Place the twisted pastries on a lined baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and flaky. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, let the pumpkin filling rest for 30 minutes before using. Keep puff pastry cold for the best results.
