Description
A classic dish of savory sausages wrapped in flaky crescent dough, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 tube (8 ounces) crescent roll dough
- 24 links cocktail-sized sausages
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a cutting board. Cut the dough in half lengthwise, then slice each rectangle into 12 strips for a total of 24 strips.
- Take one sausage and place it on each strip of dough. Tightly roll the sausage in the dough until fully wrapped.
- Space the dough-wrapped sausages about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Brush the beaten egg over each wrapped sausage.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
- While baking, mix melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Once baked, brush the garlic butter over the pigs in a blanket and serve with dipping sauces.
Notes
For a twist, add cheese inside the blanket or experiment with various seasonings in the garlic butter.
