Description

A classic dish of savory sausages wrapped in flaky crescent dough, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 tube (8 ounces) crescent roll dough
  • 24 links cocktail-sized sausages
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley (chopped)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a cutting board. Cut the dough in half lengthwise, then slice each rectangle into 12 strips for a total of 24 strips.
  3. Take one sausage and place it on each strip of dough. Tightly roll the sausage in the dough until fully wrapped.
  4. Space the dough-wrapped sausages about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush the beaten egg over each wrapped sausage.
  6. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
  7. While baking, mix melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and pepper in a small bowl.
  8. Once baked, brush the garlic butter over the pigs in a blanket and serve with dipping sauces.

Notes

For a twist, add cheese inside the blanket or experiment with various seasonings in the garlic butter.
