Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) sirloin beef, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) pepper
- 4 slices provolone cheese, sliced
- 8 slices Asiago bread
- Butter
Instructions
- Warm up the olive oil in a pan over a medium flame.
- Introduce the sirloin beef, diced onion, and chopped green bell pepper to the pan.
- Sauté the mixture until the beef loses its pink color and the vegetables are soft.
- Season the mixture with garlic salt and pepper, then combine thoroughly.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of Asiago bread. Place a slice of provolone on the unbuttered side, add the beef and vegetable mixture, top with another slice of provolone, and finish with another slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Cook the sandwich with the buttered side facing down until both sides are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Slice the sandwich in half and savor.
Notes
- Use whole wheat bread for a healthier choice instead of Asiago bread.
- Enhance the flavor by adding mushrooms to the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Get creative with different cheeses like cheddar or Swiss for a unique twist.
