Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with our recipe for Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese. Learn how to create this cheesy, savory delight today!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) sirloin beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) pepper
  • 4 slices provolone cheese, sliced
  • 8 slices Asiago bread
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Warm up the olive oil in a pan over a medium flame.
  2. Introduce the sirloin beef, diced onion, and chopped green bell pepper to the pan.
  3. Sauté the mixture until the beef loses its pink color and the vegetables are soft.
  4. Season the mixture with garlic salt and pepper, then combine thoroughly.
  5. Spread butter on one side of each slice of Asiago bread. Place a slice of provolone on the unbuttered side, add the beef and vegetable mixture, top with another slice of provolone, and finish with another slice of bread, buttered side out.
  6. Cook the sandwich with the buttered side facing down until both sides are golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Slice the sandwich in half and savor.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat bread for a healthier choice instead of Asiago bread.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding mushrooms to the beef and vegetable mixture.
  • Get creative with different cheeses like cheddar or Swiss for a unique twist.
