Description

Discover how to make delicious Philly Cheesesteak Bowls at home with our easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal!

Ingredients

  • – 1.5-2 lbs (680-907 g) flank steak, sirloin steak or ground beef will also work
  • – 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • – 2 bell peppers, chopped, any color of choice
  • – 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • – 1.5 Tbsp (23 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • – 4-6 slices provolone cheese
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) pepper
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) paprika
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) onion powder
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried marjoram
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
  • – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Montreal steak seasoning, optional

Instructions

  1. Warm the oil in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Add the chopped bell peppers and diced onions. Allow them to soften and become tender for about 5 minutes. Then, incorporate the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, dried marjoram, and steak seasoning.
  3. Introduce the chopped steak to the pan with the vegetables. Sprinkle the mixed seasonings over the peppers and steak, then add the Worcestershire sauce. Cook the steak for a few minutes until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.
  4. When the steak is nearly cooked, place the provolone slices over the mixture in the pan. Remove from heat and cover with a lid to let the cheese melt.

Notes

  • Marinate the steak in Worcestershire sauce for 30 minutes before cooking for a richer flavor.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or Swiss for unique taste variations.
  • Serve the steak and pepper mixture on a toasted hoagie roll for a delectable Philly cheesesteak bowl.
