Ingredients
- 1 16-ounce package bulk beef breakfast sausage
- 4 cup (960 ml) s all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) packed brown sugar
- 4 teaspoon (20 ml) s baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
- 4 large eggs
- 21/2 cup (2520 ml) s milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- Nonstick cooking spray for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
- Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat up. Use nonstick cooking spray to lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, then place it in the oven to warm while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
- In a large pan over medium heat, cook the beef sausage until it is browned and crumbly. Drain any extra fat and let it cool a bit.
- In a big bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt by whisking them together.
- In a different bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract thoroughly.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until a batter forms, being careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the cooked sausage.
- Take the warmed baking dish out of the oven with care and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is a golden hue.
