Description

Discover how to make a delicious Pancake Sausage Breakfast Bake that will impress your family and friends. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions!

Ingredients

  • 1 16-ounce package bulk beef breakfast sausage
  • 4 cup (960 ml) s all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) packed brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoon (20 ml) s baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 21/2 cup (2520 ml) s milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Nonstick cooking spray for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat up. Use nonstick cooking spray to lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, then place it in the oven to warm while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, cook the beef sausage until it is browned and crumbly. Drain any extra fat and let it cool a bit.
  3. In a big bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt by whisking them together.
  4. In a different bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract thoroughly.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until a batter forms, being careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the cooked sausage.
  6. Take the warmed baking dish out of the oven with care and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is a golden hue.
  8. Let the dish cool for around 10 minutes before cutting into slices. Enjoy it warm with butter, maple syrup, or your favorite topping.

Notes

  • Make sure to remove any excess fat from the cooked beef sausage to prevent the dish from becoming too oily.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter when combining the wet and dry ingredients to ensure a light and fluffy texture.
  • Consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for a hint of spice, for a sweeter option.
