- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Guacamole (optional)
- Jalapeño slices (optional)

Instructions

- Arrange the hard taco shells standing upright in a baking dish.
- Cook the ground beef and diced onion in a skillet over medium heat until browned and softened.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Add the minced garlic and taco seasoning, stirring for about a minute.
- Pour in the tomato sauce or salsa, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for about five minutes.
- Spoon the beef mixture into the taco shells.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filled tacos.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and the shells turn crisp.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, and cilantro before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, preheat the taco shells before filling. Lean ground beef or a mix with turkey can make for a healthier option.
