Description

A healthy twist on classic flavor, these oven-baked cabbage burgers combine crispy baked cabbage with a hearty filling, making them a family favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
  • 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing it or using parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. Brush olive oil on both sides of the cabbage slices.
  4. Combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg (if using) in a large bowl. Mix until well blended.
  5. Place a generous portion of the meat mixture on each cabbage slice, forming a patty.
  6. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the cabbage is tender and the meat is fully cooked.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top during the last few minutes of baking, allowing it to melt perfectly.
