Description
Delicious no bake cookie dough bars that capture the nostalgic taste of cookie dough, combining buttery richness and mini chocolate chips for a dreamy treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk (or dairy-free milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips (or regular chocolate chips, chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the flour. If using regular all-purpose flour, heat it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Alternatively, bake it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes. Let it cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until smooth and the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Slowly add the cooled flour to the wet mixture. Mix until a thick, soft dough forms. If it feels dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Press the cookie dough mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly to the edges.
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 1-2 hours, until firm and set.
- Once set, remove the bars from the pan, cut into squares, and serve.
Notes
Consider experimenting with different types of chocolate chips or adding nuts for variation. For presentation, drizzle melted chocolate on top before cutting.
