Description
Delicious and tender steak bites cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce using a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs sirloin or tenderloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for searing)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (cornstarch slurry)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak bites on all sides (optional).
- Transfer seared steak to the slow cooker.
- Pour honey garlic sauce (mixed honey, soy sauce, garlic, and beef broth) over the steak.
- Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
- If a thicker sauce is desired, stir in cornstarch slurry during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
Notes
Consider marinating the steak in the honey garlic mixture for a few hours to enhance flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
