Description

A delightful and whimsical cookie recipe that combines chocolate chips and nuts for a nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them out evenly.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for varied flavor.
