Description

Discover the secret to making the best Mexican restaurant-style cheese dip at home. Learn how to recreate this creamy and flavorful appetizer with our easy recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb (227 g) white american cheese
  • 1/2 lb (227 g) pepper jack cheese
  • 1 4.5 oz (128 g) can chopped green chiles, drained
  • 1 12 oz (340 g) can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) ground cumin
  • tortilla chips, I like the scoop variety

Instructions

  1. Place the cheeses and the evaporated milk into a saucepan over a low flame. Mix continuously until the cheeses are fully melted and the blend becomes smooth.
  2. Drain the chopped green chiles and incorporate them into the saucepan. Add the cumin and stir everything together.
  3. Present the dip warm, accompanied by tortilla chips!

Notes

  • Try using extra hot pepper jack cheese for a spicier flavor.
  • Experiment with sharp cheddar or monterey jack for a unique taste.
  • Add diced tomatoes for texture and flavor, or top with cilantro before serving.
