Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450 g) cheese tortellini (fresh or froz en)
  • 1/2 pound (225 g) Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cooked and crumbled beef bacon (about 6 strips)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) beef pepperoni slices, halved
  • 2 cup (480 ml) s marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup (240 ml) shredded moz zarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Sliced black olives
  • Diced green bell peppers
  • Chopped fresh basil or parsley


Instructions

  1. Warm up your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish or a large casserole dish with grease.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the tortellini following the instructions on the package, then drain and keep aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the marinara or pizza sauce with the crumbled sausage, bacon, and half of the pepperoni slices, ensuring everything is well combined.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the sauce mixture across the base of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Place the cooked tortellini into the dish, then cover with the remaining sauce mixture, making sure the pasta is fully coated.
  6. Distribute the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top. Arrange the remaining pepperoni slices on top to give it a pizza-like appearance.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil without sealing it tightly and bake for 20 minutes. Take off the foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  8. For garnish, add sliced black olives, diced green bell peppers, or chopped fresh basil or parsley if you like. Serve hot, possibly with a side of garlic bread or a simple salad.
