Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • Tortilla chips
  • 2 cups (480 ml) chopped beef
  • 1 (425 g) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 3 cups (360 g) shredded cheese (such as cheddar or a Mexican blend cheese)
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Pickled jalapeno slices
  • Sliced or pickled red onions
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • Olives

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a large baking tray by covering it with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange a single, even layer of tortilla chips on the tray. Sprinkle half of the chopped beef, black beans, and shredded cheese over the chips.
  3. Place another layer of tortilla chips on top. Scatter the remaining chopped beef, black beans, and cheese over this second layer.
  4. Cook the nachos in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 6-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the nachos are thoroughly heated.
  5. While the nachos are baking, get the toppings ready and have them set aside for serving.
  6. As soon as the nachos are done, serve them right away with your choice of toppings.

Notes

  • Consider using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a protein boost.
  • Top the nachos with sliced avocado or guacamole for a burst of freshness.
  • Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro before serving for enhanced flavors.
