Ingredients
- 9 baking potatoes (2 kg)
- 2/3 cup (160 ml) vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup (80 g) all-purpose flour
- 5 liters whole milk
- 1/2 tbsp (8 ml) salt
- 1 tsp (5 ml) ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) beef bits, divided
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 280 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (225 g) container sour cream
Instructions
- Collect all necessary items.
- Pierce the potatoes with a fork and cook them in the microwave, three or four at a time, until they are soft enough to be easily pierced with a fork, approximately 7 to 8 minutes. Once cool enough, remove the insides.
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt the vegetable oil; add the flour and stir until they are well integrated, about one minute. Gradually incorporate the milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Mix in the prepared potatoes, salt, pepper, 1/3 cup of beef bits, two tablespoons of chopped green onions, and most of the shredded cheddar cheese. Cook until everything is heated thoroughly. Add the sour cream and continue heating.
- Serve with the remaining beef bits, green onions, and cheese sprinkled on top.
- Savor your meal!
Notes
- Consider using whole milk for a creamier texture.
- Enhance the flavor by adding garlic powder or paprika.
- Ensure a consistent dish by thoroughly mixing the ingredients.
