Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and then whisk in the sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
