Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
- 2 peaches, peeled and chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Gently fold in the dried lavender and chopped peaches.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For a more intense lavender flavor, slightly increase the dried culinary lavender. Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
