A flavorful twist on classic meatloaf, infused with spicy jalapeños and creamy cheeses for a unique and satisfying dish.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds ground beef (or preferred ground meat)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 0.5 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2-3 fresh jalapeños, diced (adjust to taste)
- 0.5 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 0.5 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar, cream cheese, diced jalapeños, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix by hand until ingredients are just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Adjust the jalapeño quantity based on your heat tolerance. Pair with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
