Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1-2 jalapeños, diced
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bread flour, salt, and sugar.
- Pour in the sourdough starter and water, mixing until combined.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise for another hour.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and enjoy!
Notes
For added heat, use spicier jalapeño varieties. Toasting the cheddar beforehand enhances flavor.
