Description

A delightful blend of spicy and tangy flavors, Hot and Sour Soup features soft tofu, earthy mushrooms, and a rich broth, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup cubed tofu
  • ½ cup sliced bamboo shoots
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Cilantro for garnish


Instructions

  1. Bring the broth to a simmer in a large pot.
  2. Add mushrooms, tofu, and bamboo shoots.
  3. Stir in vinegar, soy sauce, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  4. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add it to the soup to thicken.
  5. Slowly drizzle in the beaten eggs while stirring the soup.
  6. Add green onions and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with cilantro.
