Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
- Dissolve sugar in warm water and sprinkle yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and melted butter.
- Mix together until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
