Delicious and nutritious homemade protein bars that combine almond flour, Medjool dates, and dark chocolate for a healthy energy boost.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup Medjool dates (pitted)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup dairy-free caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix almond flour, maple syrup, and almond butter until combined to form a nougat layer.
- Spread the nougat mixture evenly in a lined baking dish.
- Process the Medjool dates and coconut oil in a food processor until smooth, then spread this caramel layer over the nougat.
- Sprinkle chopped almonds over the caramel layer.
- Melt dark chocolate chips and pour over the top.
- Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until set.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
Notes
Chill for at least 1-2 hours for best results. Experiment with toppings like sea salt for enhanced flavor.
