Description

A quick and delicious homemade McGriddle featuring fluffy pancakes, savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and crispy bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground breakfast sausage (or 4 sausage patties)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup (200ml) whole milk
  • 4 tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 ¼ cups (160g) flour
  • ⅔ cup (150ml) milk (for pancake batter)
  • 2 7/8 tbsp. (40g) melted butter (for pancake batter)
  • 1 egg (for pancake batter)
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 6 slices of crispy bacon
  • 4 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Form the ground sausage into four patties and season with salt and pepper. Cook in a grill pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Whisk together 6 eggs and 1 cup whole milk in a medium bowl. Cook the omelettes in a buttered pan on low heat, cooking each side for a few minutes until set.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add ⅔ cup milk, 1 egg, 2 7/8 tbsp melted butter, and maple syrup. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into a non-stick pan, cooking 2-3 tablespoons at a time for 1-2 minutes per side until bubbles form.
  5. Cook the bacon until crispy.
  6. Assemble each McGriddle by stacking a pancake, cheese slice, sausage patty, omelette, bacon, and topping with a second pancake. Repeat for remaining ingredients.

Notes

Experiment with toppings like fresh fruit or additional syrup for extra flavor.
