Description

Discover how to make tender High Protein Slow Cooker Garlic Buttered Beef Bites that are packed with flavor. Perfect for easy, delicious meals!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (907 g) stew beef
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 6 tablespoons (90 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) dried oregano
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Fresh parsley or scallions, optional
  • 1 tablespoon (8 g) cornstarch if needed

Instructions

  1. Pour the sesame oil into a large frying pan and heat over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the beef chunks until they are browned on each side without cooking them through.
  3. Transfer the browned beef to your slow cooker.
  4. Mix together the garlic, vegetable oil, honey, tomato sauce, soy sauce, and oregano, then drizzle over the beef in the slow cooker, ensuring everything is well-coated.
  5. Place the lid on the slow cooker and let it cook on low for 4-6 hours until the beef becomes tender.
  6. The soy sauce will give the beef a deep, rich color as it cooks.
  7. If the sauce appears too thick before the beef is fully tender, add half a cup of water.
  8. If the sauce seems too runny before serving, blend one tablespoon of cornstarch with a quarter cup of water and mix it into the sauce.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve with rice!
  10. Add parsley or scallions for a touch of color.

Notes

  • Marinate the beef in the sauce mixture for a few hours before cooking for a richer flavor.
  • Control the saltiness of the dish by using low-sodium soy sauce.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the dish by adding more or less honey to suit your taste preference.
