Description

A quick and flavorful hibachi dish featuring tender zucchini and sautéed onions with aromatic seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchinis, cut into 23 inch sticks
  • 1 medium onion, quartered and sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the zucchini sticks, cooking for about 4-5 minutes until they are heated through and golden brown.
  5. Drizzle in soy sauce and sesame oil, tossing everything together. Cook for another minute to allow the sauce to coat the vegetables.
  6. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds, salt, and pepper before serving.

Notes

For an added depth in flavor, consider marinating the zucchini in soy sauce for a short period before cooking. Pair with protein sources like grilled chicken or tofu for a balanced meal.
