Description
A succulent beef tenderloin roast seasoned with aromatic herbs and rich herb butter, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 (4-5 lb) beef tenderloin roast, trimmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, Dijon mustard, and lemon zest to prepare the herb butter. Set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Rub the beef tenderloin with olive oil and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped rosemary, and thyme.
- Place the beef in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until it reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
- Slice the beef and serve with the prepared herb butter. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
Allow the beef to rest after cooking to retain its juices. Experiment with different herbs for unique flavors.
