Description

A delightful layered dessert featuring light angel food cake, luscious pineapple, and a creamy topping that embodies the essence of summer.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of angel food cake mix
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries or other fruit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to angel food cake mix package instructions.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and bake in an ungreased tube pan.
  3. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  4. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Fold in the crushed pineapple (with juice) and whipped topping until well combined.
  6. Slice the cooled angel food cake horizontally to create layers.
  7. Spread the pineapple mixture generously between the layers and on top of the cake.
  8. If desired, add chopped strawberries or other fruits on top for decoration.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature for smooth mixing. Use a serrated knife for slicing the angel food cake to achieve clean, even layers.
