A nutritious and indulgent healthy banana bread recipe using ripe bananas, whole wheat flour, and Greek yogurt.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl.
- Add the Greek yogurt, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before slicing. Enjoy as a snack or breakfast!
Notes
For extra texture, consider folding in nuts or chocolate chips. Serve warm with Greek yogurt or maple syrup.
