Description

A delightful twist on traditional French toast made with sweet Hawaiian rolls, rich egg mixture, and topped with maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the rolls, making sure they’re well soaked.
  5. Dot the top with butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Let the assembled dish sit for about 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor. Experiment with toppings like fresh fruit or chopped nuts.
