Description

Discover how to make a delicious Hamburger Potato Casserole that is perfect for family dinners. This easy recipe will become a household favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) lean ground beef
  • 1 can (298 g) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 180 ml milk
  • 120 g chopped onion
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 cups (720 g) peeled and thinly sliced potatoes
  • 120 g shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Collect your ingredients together. Set your oven to a temperature of 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
  2. Warm a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, stirring and cooking until it becomes brown and crumbly, which should take around 5 to 7 minutes. Remove excess fat and discard it.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, blend the condensed soup, milk, onion, salt, and pepper until they are well combined.
  4. In a 2-quart baking dish, layer the potatoes, then the soup mixture, and then the cooked ground beef, repeating the layers alternately.
  5. Place the dish in the oven that has been preheated and bake until the potatoes become soft, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Sprinkle the top with Cheddar cheese and continue baking until the cheese has melted.
  7. Serve the dish and enjoy your meal.

Notes

  • Consider using lean ground turkey instead of beef for a healthier dish with lower fat content.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or Swiss to create a unique and flavorful casserole.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding a sprinkle of paprika or garlic powder between the layers.
