Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
  • 8 saltine crackers, crumbled
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s brown sugar, divided
  • 5 teaspoon (3 ml) spicy brown mustard
  • 5 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
  • 5 teaspoon (3 ml) dried minced onion flakes
  • 25 teaspoon (1 ml) dried cilantro
  • 25 teaspoon (1 ml) ground thyme
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 dash paprika
  • 3 tablespoon (45 ml) s ketchup


Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to start warming up.
  2. In a bowl, combine the beef, crumbled crackers, and beaten egg with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Add mustard, garlic powder, onion flakes, cilantro, thyme, cinnamon, and paprika to season the mixture; blend thoroughly. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a 9×9-inch pan or a loaf pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), which should take around 40 minutes.
  4. Mix the ketchup with the remaining tablespoon of brown sugar. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf and return it to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
