Description

This comforting dish combines lean ground turkey with tender potatoes, infused with aromatic spices for a flavorful, hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Crumble ground turkey into the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until golden-brown, 7 to 10 minutes. Add cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in the diced potatoes, cover the skillet, and cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  4. Gently add frozen peas, mixing in, and cook for another 5 minutes until warmed through.
  5. If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro before serving. Serve warm in bowls.

Notes

Feel free to adjust spices and try using sweet potatoes for a twist. This dish stores well, making it perfect for meal prep.
