A classic and comforting dish featuring ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onions and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant and translucent.
- Increase heat to medium-high; add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until mushrooms are soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well to combine.
- Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring until smooth and bubbling.
- Reduce heat to low; gently mix in sour cream until fully incorporated. Simmer for about five minutes until thickened.
- Toss cooked pasta into the sauce or serve it on individual plates. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Serve with a side salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
