Description

A classic and comforting dish featuring ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onions and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high; add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until mushrooms are soft.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well to combine.
  6. Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring until smooth and bubbling.
  7. Reduce heat to low; gently mix in sour cream until fully incorporated. Simmer for about five minutes until thickened.
  8. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce or serve it on individual plates. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
