Description

Learn how to make a delicious Ground Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

  • – 1/2 cup (120 ml) soy sauce
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
  • – 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • – 1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • – 1 tablespoon (8 g) cornstarch
  • – 1/2 tablespoon (7.5 ml) sesame oil
  • – 1 pound (454 g) ground beef, 93% lean
  • – 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • – 1 large head broccoli, cut into florets and blanched
  • – 1 tablespoon (9 g) toasted sesame seeds
  • – 3 medium scallions, sliced on the bias
  • – cooked rice, or cauliflower rice, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch by whisking them together. Set this mixture aside for later.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, stirring occasionally, and cook until the beef is nearly done, approximately 5 minutes.
  3. Pour the previously prepared sauce into the skillet, mix well, and let it cook for an additional minute. Then, add the broccoli florets and continue cooking for another minute.
  4. Evenly distribute the stir fry onto four plates or shallow bowls, layering with rice first, if desired.
  5. Sprinkle each serving with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions.

Notes

  • Blanch broccoli before adding to stir fry for tender yet crisp texture.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat content in the dish.
  • Enhance flavor by using brown rice or cauliflower rice as a base.
