Description
Deliciously sweet and tender grilled carrots glazed with honey and brown sugar, perfect for summer barbecues.
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots, sliced lengthwise if thick
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange juice (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill for direct and indirect cooking, aiming for 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Toss the carrots in a bowl with extra virgin olive oil until evenly coated.
- Place the carrots on the grill over direct heat. Rotate them every few minutes to achieve a char on each side.
- If the carrots begin to burn, move them to indirect heat to finish cooking, about 12 to 15 minutes, until fork-tender.
- Just before removing the carrots from the grill, glaze them with a mix of butter, brown sugar, honey, salt, and any optional orange juice or cinnamon. Cook for one more minute.
- Remove the carrots from the grill and glaze them once more before serving immediately.
Notes
Select fresh, firm carrots for the best results. For a tangy twist, feel free to add orange juice to the glaze.
