Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
- 8 (6 inch) (15 cm) corn tortillas
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 pound (454 g) shredded cheese
- 1 (4 ounce) (113 g) can green chile peppers, chopped
- 1 (10.75 ounce) (305 g) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
Instructions
- Set your oven to 325°F (165°C) and ensure a medium-sized casserole dish is lightly oiled.
- In a medium frying pan, cook the beef over medium heat until it is uniformly browned; remove excess grease.
- Layer half of the corn tortillas at the bottom of the prepared dish, then add half of the diced onion, shredded cheese, cooked beef, and chopped green chiles on top.
- Repeat the layers with the rest of the tortillas, onion, half of the remaining cheese, cooked beef, and chiles.
- In a bowl, combine the condensed soup and milk, stirring until smooth, then pour this mixture over the assembled casserole.
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Scatter the remaining cheese on top and continue baking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
