Ingredients

  • Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Parmesan cheese, grated, 1/2 cup (120 ml) (50 grams)
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded, 1 cup (240 ml) (115 grams)
  • Moz zarella cheese, sliced, 4 slices
  • Butter, 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s (28 grams)
  • All-purpose flour, 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s (15 grams)
  • Milk, 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters)
  • Elb ow macaroni, 1 cup (240 ml) (100 grams)
  • Bread crumbs, 1/4 cup (60 ml) (30 grams)
  • Olive oil, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters)
  • Beef bacon, 8 slices
  • Hamburger buns, 4
  • Lettuce leaves, 4
  • Tomato, sliced, 1 large
  • Onion, sliced, 1 small


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in a pot of boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened.
  6. Add cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
  7. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce in the saucepan.
  8. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the macaroni and cheese.
  9. Transfer the pot to the oven and bake for 10 minutes until the top is golden.
  10. Meanwhile, season ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  11. Form the seasoned beef into 4 equal patties.
  12. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  13. Cook beef patties for 4-5 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  14. In another pan, cook bacon slices until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  15. Place mozzarella slices on each beef patty and cover until cheese melts.
  16. Toast hamburger buns in the oven or on a skillet until golden brown.
  17. Assemble the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun.
  18. Add a slice of tomato and a slice of onion on top of the lettuce.
  19. Place the cheesy beef patty on top of the vegetables.
  20. Add two slices of crispy bacon on each beef patty.
