Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 g)
  • 1/2 cup clarified butter (115 g)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)


Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 2 minutes until pink and opaque.
  6. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  7. Lower the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet.
  8. Once butter is melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  9. Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest, mixing well.
  10. Return shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
  11. Add chopped parsley and dill, and stir to combine.
  12. Cook for 1 minute to heat through and blend flavors.
  13. Serve immediately, garnished with extra herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use unsalted butter and adjust salt to taste.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
