Ingredients

4 Slices Sourdough Bread, Or your favorite bread

2 Tablespoon (30 ml) s Softened Butter

1 Teaspoon (5 ml) Garlic Powder

1 Pinch Salt

1/2 Teaspoon (3 ml) Dired Parsley Flakes, optional

1/2 Cup (120 ml) Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Mayonnaise, To Taste

6 Slices beef strips, Cooked

2 Large Leaves Romaine Lettuce

4 Thick Slices Roma Tomato

Instructions

1. Heat a griddle pan or large frying pan on medium flame.

2. In a small mixing bowl, mash together the softened butter, garlic powder, salt, and optional dried parsley flakes using a fork.

3. Place the sourdough bread slices on a cutting board and apply the butter blend to one side of each slice.

4. Turn the bread over and sprinkle evenly with shredded cheddar cheese. Position the bread slices, butter side down, on the heated pan and cook for 3-5 minutes until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

5. Using a spatula, transfer the bread slices back to the cutting board with the buttered side facing down. Add mayonnaise, cooked beef strips, Romaine lettuce, and Roma tomatoes as you wish.

6. Serve right away.

Notes

1. For extra crispy bread, use a griddle pan with light pressure on the sandwich as it cooks.
2. Swap shredded cheddar with extra beef strips for a protein-packed version.
3. Allow the cooked beef strips to cool slightly before assembling to prevent wilting the lettuce.
4. Store any leftover cooked beef in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
