Ingredients
- 1 lb venison cubed steak
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the venison cubed steak in buttermilk for at least one hour.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Remove the steak from the buttermilk and coat each piece in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the coated steak fingers until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture. Rest coated steak for a few minutes before frying for better adherence.
