Description

A tender and flavorful flat iron steak marinated in a rich mixture, perfect for grilling or pan-searing.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds flat iron steak
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 cup scallions (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Combine the marinade ingredients: soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and chopped scallions.
  2. Add the flat iron steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
  4. Preheat a medium pan over medium heat and add two tablespoons of olive oil.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade, seasoning with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  6. Cook the steak in the pan for 5-6 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 135ºF.
  7. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the steak overnight. Pair with sides like mashed potatoes or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
